Background
Jonatan is a translational drug discovery scientist with a PhD in Neuroscience. He specializes in developing and running assays that address key questions about potency, target engagement, mechanism of action and reproducibility. He has 10+ years of hands-on experience across academia and biotech, spanning cell line engineering (CRISPR, lentiviral methods and PiggyBac), protein biochemistry, live-cell fluorescence imaging, and high-content and plate-based assays.

He has 10+ years of hands-on experience across academia and biotech, spanning cell line engineering (CRISPR, lentiviral methods and PiggyBac), protein biochemistry, live-cell fluorescence imaging, and high-content and plate-based assays.
Before co-founding Biohagen Labs, Jonatan led early discovery and validation work at Novo Holdings SeedLab (BiOrigin). He built scalable cellular and biochemical workflows using high-content imaging, NanoBRET/NanoBiT, luciferase/reporters and biosensors, delivering data packages to support decisions on early-stage programs. He also runs omics-enabled mechanism-of-action projects, coordinating SLAMseq and whole-exome sequencing with CROs. He independently interprets large datasets to identify resistance mechanisms and support target validation. Jonatan is a co-inventor on a patent covering a first-in-class small-molecule inhibitor and has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications, including as first author.
