Cell-based and biochemical assay development
Our capabilities include custom immunoassays, enzymatic assays, ELISA and AlphaLISA platforms, and cell-based formats. Cellular readouts include proliferation, viability, apoptosis, invasion and phenotype. We also work with drug-response and mode-of-action studies, high-content and high-throughput screening, and automated liquid handling. For molecular interactions, our capabilities include NanoBRET, thermal shift assays, CETSA and microscale thermophoresis. We select the platform based on the biology, available materials and performance requirements.
What your project can include
An assay project can include experimental design, optimization, controls suited to the intended use, QC data, a documented protocol and a method report. We can also support assay transfer. The scope should define what constitutes a usable signal, which controls are needed and what uncertainty remains after the study. This helps you interpret the results and use them to inform the next development decision.
How to get started
Tell us what you want to measure or what is not working in your current assay. If helpful, include the model, reagents or samples you have and any timing constraints. A few lines are enough to get started.
Common questions
Can you improve an existing assay as well as develop a new one?
Yes. We develop new assays and optimize or adapt existing formats. Share your current method, the performance issue and representative results so we can define the relevant experiments and controls.
What does assay validation mean for my project?
The evidence required depends on the assay’s intended use. During scoping, we agree with you on the performance questions, controls, QC and reporting. If the work must meet a specific development or regulatory requirement, let us know when you contact us so we can assess the appropriate scope.
